New Brief- Application of design

Application of design- working as a group of 5.... should be great working as a team, i'm looking forward to it, brief is a little daunting, quite a lot of work to do, so better get a good start over reading week, to keep on top of the work load, seen as though working in a group we all need to work on similar things at the same time....

feed back !

had feed back session, went well, loved my jetted pocket, dress fastening down the back could have been neater and finished off a bit better, overall work was looking really good, so i was pleased with my feedback. i feel i could of done the dress a little bit better, i ran out of time with the eyelet fastening down the back... next i wont use strips of hook and eyes, not practical and hard to attatch.

deadline !!

deadline tomorrow, felt like i was running out of time, even though i had finished everything today, i still had little bits to go back and tweek in my research and designs, but, iv really enjoyed this module, am pleased with my work and hope i get a really good, grade, its been hard work but worth it !

technical package

started technical package, with flats of my dress for river island, and have also started to meausure, and do manufacturing details of the garment with layplans, instructions, fabrics and components, how to make a jetted pocket... very pleased with technical package, its neat and professional, lots of information about the garment and i think i've answered the breif well. images of technical package....

final garment

Inspired by a vintage garment, and trip to the west yorkshire playhouse wardrobe and the hero's and heronines

i have started to make my final garment, i have chosen a simple tailored bodice with cap sleeves and dart detail on the front and back with contrasting top stitching, scoop neckline and eyelet strip fastening down the centre back, with a layered knee length skirt, pin tucked up front and back, with a hidden jetted pocket at one side,... very pleased i have finished this garment, looks great and i think it fits the market level well and its a tailored garment ! images of garment finishsed....

finished pattern, and also toile, looks great, didn't have many problems manufacturing the garment, but lining the sleeves was difficult, but got the hang of it now for my final garment, got hook and eye fastening down the back, with layered up skirt and from toile crit, needs a jetted pocked on the skirt to make it more tailored. images of toile....

i have designed my final garment and ready to start make the pattern, from a basic skirt and bodice body block, minipulating them so they work for my design. i have also done a working line up of the range. images of pattern and final design with working line up....
