design research

research- I've expanded on the research by looking at my vintage tailored garment, a yellow jacket from the 70's boxy and boyish, quite plain bot much detail really. I've also looked using eyelets as a detail feature and using top stitching, i am also going to use brights fun fabrics to compliment river islands style and also keep it young even though it's a tailored summer dress ! images from research, and tailored garment...

new brief

had new brief today, Design realisation... love this brief get to make a tailored garment of our choice, for choice of market sector and also the fabrics of choice. very short module... not alot of time to do everything. decided I'm going to design a dress, for river island, spring/summer 2012. i have started researching the trends and details on wgsn and also started to build up a fabric book, with appropriate fabrics for the middle market.

contextuals seminars

seminar's for contextuals have now started, going over selected things from the previous lectures and some new things, fetishes and physcology, get given tasks to do each week... doing the review of an exhibition this week... will do heroes and heroines seen as tho I've already been.

Enterprise lectures

lectures have finished and have completed all quiz's for them, and seminar's are still going on, we have four weeks till launch of business, ( happily ever after).... started to write up business plan in rough, and also started making a few accessories as prototypes... images from journal and a few brooches...

shop report

over xmas holidays, we have got to do a shop report comparing tailored garments from different market sector levels, i have looked at new look, next and all saints, comparing the quailty and fabrics, and also where the garments are produced and how. images of shop report from sketch book....
