statement of intent

at the end of this module i have had to write a statement of intent, stating my intentions and way forward for 3rd year.... explaining, what i would like to research further into and also the fabrics, colours and designers i would get inspiration from....

these are images to show how i set it out and presented my statement of intent....

final garment

finally finished the toile/final garment in calico,
the waistcoat is inspired by body builders and hidden agenda... the hood- to hide away from the outside world, the spine of gathered fabric down the back, the hidden spine of a body builder, the jetted pocket... pocket hidden away inside of the structure of the waistcoat, the hand and folding of fabric down the right hand side of the waistcoat- hidden body features, surrealism......

images of front, back and sides, pocket, details and back with the hood up....

i have really enjoyed this project and would love to take my sampling and inspirations further and expand into other areas, and progress for 3rd year....

colour and fabric

the white collection is very chic, with lots of texture, soft chiffons and silks with stiff cottons...

i have also used texture through out, as the black, which is mainly targeted at winter, as black is quite harsh... but using leather, with soft silk chiffons...

i have chosen to keep the jacket white, with hidden colour, as its for spring summer and keeping it light a fresh, compliments the summer season...

making of the waistcoat

through development. i have decided to make the waistcoat more tailord, so i have added a jetted pocket on the left hand side.... keeping in theme with theme hidden agenda..

i have also curved the hemline of the waistcoat, also giving it a closer fit to the body, and also adding an over sized hood, with pin tucks

making of the waistcoat, and development into making the final garment....

development of design

inspirations, from mainly hidden agenda,
using the hand thats padded- limb like a body builder padded out....

looking at roses, has inspired me into folding of fabric a little further and really like this idea, going to use it on the front of the wasitcoat...

wrinkles have inspired the gathering down the spine of the waistcoat...

chosen my design, i have decided to make a waistcoat that is inspired by body builders and also the hand- hidden agenda....
